Essential Job Functions
- Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and required personal protective equipment (PPE) in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
- Load and unload raw materials from incoming trucks and transport them to designated areas. Validate quantities using Blind Count Sheets or SAP transactions performed on forklift computer.
- Operate SAP database through Vehicle Mounted Units (VMUs) installed on forklifts and perform warehouse functions within SAP using the forklift VMU.
- Load/unload trucks, supply raw materials to production lines as required, and perform other driving activities as directed by leadership.
- Perform pre-trip forklift inspections and adhere to forklift battery or propane tank changing operations and safety procedures.
- Maintain clean/organized work areas throughout the shift and represent the company positively at all times.
- May have production machine operation duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and write job instructions in the location’s acceptable language(s).
- Basic computer skills and demonstrated operation of powered industrial trucks (forklifts).
- Forklift certification by an approved Refresco trainer.
Competencies
- Problem-solving: identify and resolve operational issues quickly.
- Technology: familiarity with warehouse management software and basic computer skills for production software and data logging.
- Cognitive: ability to analyze data and process parameters to optimize production.
- Safety and Risk Management: participate in safety audits and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
Education and Experience
- High School Certification or equivalent (GED).
- 3 years+ work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, overnight and holidays may be required. Overtime as needed.
- Environment: Fast-paced production plant with multiple moving parts; noise requires hearing protection. Temperatures may be hot or cold. The environment is structured and supervised.
- Travel Requirements: 0% travel anticipated.
Physical Requirements
- Physical demands include standing, walking, driving a forklift, lifting up to 50 lbs, and other positions per standard warehouse duties. The table notes required for physical assessment summarize frequency as Rarely/Often/Often/
- Visual/Sensory: moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
- Coordination and Dexterity: excellent hand-eye coordination for precise equipment control.
- Mental Stress: production deadlines and quotas; need to manage performance under pressure.
