Overview
Certified Welding Inspector - New York Mills, NY. Bureau Veritas North America is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to oversee the fabrication facility's quality assurance on behalf of our client, and to perform on-site inspections during the construction phase. The inspector should have significant knowledge of AWS codes and demonstrable experience in a similar position.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with the Project Manager to determine requirements, scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget for a given assignment.
- Coordinate with Project Manager, fabrication shops, contractors, and third parties to resolve schedule issues.
- Ensure services are performed in accordance with project requirements and contract with the client.
- Generate and process timesheets, billing reports, and inspection reports; submit reports in Word/Adobe Acrobat and transmit electronically to the Project Manager.
- Communicate information from the fabrication facility regarding upcoming assignments and potential work for Bureau Veritas.
- Maintain a positive relationship among Bureau Veritas, the fabrication facility, and the client.
- Ability to work remotely from established Bureau Veritas offices as needed.
- Maintain a client-oriented approach with emphasis on understanding and fulfilling client needs; read and interpret complex design and fabrication plans and specifications.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and documentation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Lotus Notes preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple simultaneous assignments without sacrificing efficiency or quality.
- Collaborate with clients, field staff, other Bureau Veritas offices, and the global Bureau Veritas organization.
Qualifications
- Certified Welding Inspector (American Welding Society)
- D1.5 Bridge Inspection Experience a plus
- NDT Level II a plus
- AMPP/NACE Level II a plus
Location and Compensation
Specific Location: New York Mills, NY
Hourly Rate: $35-$55
Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
