We are hiring for the following schedule and location:

Schedule: 10:45 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday–Thursday

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Job Description

Machine Operators are responsible for operating our scrap material recycler. This includes maintaining a clean and safe operating environment, efficiently operating machines, planning materials for production, and immediately reporting any concerns/issues with safety, machines, quality, etc. to the appropriate individual, and more.

Responsibilities

• Observes and checks finished product coming off the machine and takes immediate corrective action to eliminate the causes of a sub-standard product.
• Remove gaylords when full and record weight and label material numbers.
• Monitors equipment to ensure it is operating properly and (under the supervision of the Lead Operator) performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Complete daily production paperwork and troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns.
• Under the direction of the Lead Operator, may train team members in operating procedures, safety, and quality policy procedures.
• Learn and comprehend all equipment, so adjustments can be made if/when needed.
• Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined at Pregis Films.
• Perform all aspects of the position to the highest quality.
• Report any non-conformance to Supervisor immediately.
• Know all quality standards and expectations of the position and if not sure, ask the supervisor before continuing.
• Able to react swiftly in a safe manner in high stress situations.
• Willingness to learn.

Education And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Able to work any 8-hour shift.

Position Type

• Full time.
• Overtime expected per business demand.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to continuously lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours.
