The Doe Run Company is hiring: Battery Yard Truck Driver in Boss

Overview

The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Battery Yard Truck Driver to operate mobile equipment in order to move material required for plant operations. This rotating position is located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO. We offer $25.34/hour, a 5% targeted monthly bonus, paid time off and insurance benefits start day 1, and on-the-job training with career growth opportunities.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge related to the operation of jockey trucks and proper movement of trailers.
• Ability to follow speed limits and job site rules with respect to traffic.
• Ability to identify material within trailers to facilitate proper transport.
• Ability to use scales and follow proper weighing procedures.
• Background in maintenance and mechanics related to jockey truck and trailer.

Responsibilities

• Drive spotter/jockey truck to move trailers from storage points to receiving docks.
• Scale loads for shipping and receiving.
• Move materials and finished goods to points of usage.
• Perform safe driving of mobile equipment.
• Verify mechanical condition of jockey truck and trailer; maintain equipment.
• Park equipment in safe condition.
• Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS policies, procedures, and best practices; support peers in working safely; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting

• Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator, hearing protection and eyewear; regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, moderate noise, and vibration; occasionally required to work in confined spaces.
• Regularly required to drive; frequently required to sit, handle objects, and grasp; occasionally required to talk, hear, push, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance; requires vision clarity and color distinction.
• Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds; frequently up to 75 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
