This position involves analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities. The Accountant will partner with management, supporting field sales with expense reports and providing budget analysis to other business partners. Interaction may also occur with other Marking and Coding businesses, banks, customers, vendors, and ITW Corporate personnel.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, reconcile and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the general ledger (G/L) system including account maintenance, month-end and quarter-end procedures, and account reconciliation.
- Analyze data and convert it into meaningful information (reports, recommendations, etc.).
- Act as a business partner to commercial and operations personnel with expense reporting and budget vs. actual analysis.
- Participate in annual business and long-range planning processes, including departmental expense budgeting.
- Match, code, and post customer payments to the Accounts Receivable ledger.
- Perform financial aspects of vehicle fleet management (insurance, maintenance, leases) and conduct training for new hires.
- Assist internal and external auditors during audit engagements.
- Assist with process documentation review and financial documentation cleanup.
- Maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets in accordance with ITW Financial Policy and US GAAP.
- Assist and/or lead assigned projects focusing on continuous improvement by applying key 80/20, PLS, and USa principles and techniques; make process improvement recommendations and champion the ITW toolbox.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting.
Experience and Skills
- 1-2 years accounting experience in a related field
- Audit experience is a plus
- Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent data entry, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a diversified environment
- Excellent communication and people skills, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to travel for training, operational visits, and meetings as necessary
- Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements and experience applying them

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: The role includes typical physical/visual activities associated with the job functions. Employees may frequently talk, hear, sit and type; occasionally twist/turn, reach above shoulder and outward, stand, walk, bend, and grasp with hands. The employee must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include focused attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
Working Conditions: Typical office conditions (90%) and plant conditions (10%).
Compensation Information
The specific hiring rate within the posted pay range will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. Typical range: $50,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $70,000 (highly experienced).
