Leggett & Platt Inc. is seeking an Electrician to support our Flooring business. The flooring underlayments provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under residential and commercial flooring. Your work will help ensure people around the world have more comfort in their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Install motor controls, factory lighting systems, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), including programming and troubleshooting VFDs.
  • Install and maintain local disconnects, motors, and motor/gearboxes; troubleshoot and replace bearings as needed.
  • Troubleshoot digital and analog devices (RTDs, level/pressure transmitters, valve positioners) and their integration with PLC I/O points.
  • Provide electrical connectivity to new equipment and perform wiring for new construction, including assembling and installing conduits, outlets, panels, and junction boxes.
  • Test, calibrate, repair, rebuild, maintain, modify, and install electrical equipment as required.
  • Understand electrical equipment functions, electrical theory, and switchgear maintenance, with emphasis on 480V – 3 phase and below.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills and the ability to repair electrical systems and interfaces with plant equipment.
  • Adhere to lock-out/tag-out procedures and maintain a strong safety orientation and record.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Read and understand bills of materials, blueprints, and electrical schematics.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need

  • Journeyman electrician license or completed at least 2 years of an apprenticeship program.
  • Proven experience in industrial electrical work, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • PLC programming knowledge is a plus.
