Job Summary
The HR Payroll Clerk assists with Super 1 Foods payroll and human resources administration, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Operations: Maintains and monitors all aspects of payroll, including collecting, processing, and documenting payroll data. Ensures the accurate and timely distribution of employee paychecks, whether via direct deposit or other methods. Administers and maintains records for employee earnings, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and benefits.
- Human Resources Operations: Provides administrative support to the HR department, including data entry, file management, and general office duties. Assists with HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs and benefits open enrollment. Serves as a point of contact for employees, resolving payroll and benefit discrepancies and answering payroll and benefit-related inquiries.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, as well as tax regulations. Prepares and files payroll tax returns and reports, including year-end forms like W-2s. Conducts internal audits to ensure the accuracy and compliance of payroll and human resources processes and records. Facilitates external audits by providing necessary documentation and records.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience as a human resources and/or payroll clerk or similar position is preferred but not required.
