Job Description
The HR Generalist is a member of the Human Resources department, performing para-professional/ technical work in various program areas such as recruitment, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, benefit administration, and leave of absence administration.
The HR Generalist also develops and drives creative HR initiatives and activities and serves as a liaison between the human resources department and members of the Lyons Magnus management team.
Pay and Schedule
Pay Range: $26.00-$29.00/ Per hour
Shift Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or as needed
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Position Type: In-office full time
Core Responsibilities
- Compliance: Ensure compliance of company policies, including pre-employment processes, hiring, training, and payroll practices in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Develop and oversee new hire orientation and onboarding efforts.
- Benefits Administration: Administer all tasks related to benefits, including but not limited to open enrollment, qualifying events, reconciliation of invoices, and inputting payroll with deductions.
- Leave of Absence Administration: Administer leave of absences in accordance with Federal and State employment laws.
- Employee Relations: Assist with investigating a variety of employee-related issues, incidents and complaints; resolve disputes and recommend appropriate/remedial actions.
- Employee Files & Reporting: Maintains and updates employee information. Prepares reports as designated by the HR leadership.
- Employee Recognition: Promotes a fun and engaging employee environment. Helps to plan and coordinate employee recognition events.
- Payroll: Assist with payroll processing, processing variances, inputting deductions and provides backup to payroll as needed.
- Performs other duties as reasonably assigned.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to exhibit discretion while working with confidential and sensitive information
- Familiar with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Understanding, interpreting and applying rules, regulations, policies, laws and ordinances.
- Standard office practices and procedures, including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, HRIS software, filing systems and records management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and discretion.
- Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Use good judgement and integrity.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred, not required.
Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in the area of Human Resources Management or related field required.
- One to Three years of experience in human resources or risk management support work preferred.
- HR Certified preferred (HRCI or SHRM)
