Overview
Job Title: Human Resources Generalist • Location: Phoenix, AZ • Compensation: $33.65 – $38.50 per hour (contract with potential to convert to permanent)
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR generalist or HR business partner experience
- Strong knowledge of multi-state compliance (particularly CA, CO, WA, AZ, TX, NM, NV, OK)
- Advanced skills in Paycom HRIS or similar system
- Strong decision-making, organizational, and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage sensitive employee relations matters
- Onsite availability in Phoenix, AZ
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish; experience in private equity or umbrella company environments
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across multiple states
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Manage employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment coordination
- Partner with brokers for COBRA, 401(k), and other benefit matters
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including background checks and I-9 verification
- Serve as Paycom HRIS subject matter expert, handling reporting, payroll compliance, and system troubleshooting
- Collaborate with HR, payroll, and administrative teams to align practices across the organization
- Provide backup coverage for the HR Director during maternity leave
