Piper Maddox is representing a growing organization that is a leader in sustainable wastewater treatment. They use advanced biotechnology to turn wastewater into clean water and renewable energy.

They are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Generalist to join the Houston office. This is an on-site role where you’ll play a critical part in managing HR processes, payroll support, and office operations. With exposure across HR, payroll, and business operations, this role offers variety, visibility, and the opportunity to grow as the company expands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage benefits administration with a balance of precision and employee care.
  • Coordinate smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences for new hires and departures.
  • Maintain employee data and records in the HRIS (ADP strongly preferred) with exceptional accuracy.
  • Assist with payroll processing and compliance in partnership with the finance team.
  • Administer performance management cycles and employee engagement surveys.
  • Act as a trusted resource for employee questions, providing timely and professional support.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Houston office, including supplies, vendors, and facilities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for staff and visitors, ensuring a welcoming office environment.
  • Support scheduling, internal communications, and general administrative needs.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline HR and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate across departments to help drive company-wide initiatives and maintain a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years in HR operations, payroll, or business operations. Strong familiarity with HRIS platforms; ADP experience highly preferred.
  • Confident working with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel) and comfortable creating and troubleshooting formulas.
  • Highly organized with a sharp eye for accuracy and consistency, especially in data management.
  • Able to create and refine systems that make work more efficient.
  • Clear, professional communicator with discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Dependable, approachable, and energized by working as part of a team while also taking ownership of responsibilities.
