The Position 2026 Spring Intern - Business Analyst Department Summary The intern will have the opportunity to join HTO's Quality Control Team as a business analyst to support continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivering performance and increased efficiency. The role will be responsible for working with cross functional teams to assist in the collection and analysis of process data, brainstorming innovative solutions, and supporting the design and implementation of improvements. This internship position is located in Hillsboro, on-site. The Opportunity
- Actively participate in QC Improvement meetings and support Structured Problem Solving initiatives to help the team implement solutions that eliminate root cause contributing to performance challenges.
- Attend daily cross functional meetings to support Quality Control teams to deliver on daily plans related to product testing, environmental testing, maintenance, and validation of equipment and methods.
- Assist in the design, collection, and analysis of process data to enable improved understanding of QC capacity and performance.
- Support developing tools and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends.
- Participate in mapping Quality Control processes and workflows to identify waste and improvement opportunities.
- Support 5S and Lean initiatives in the laboratory including improving tools leveraged at daily huddles, material flow, and simplified processes.
- Intensive 6 months , full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
- Program start dates are in January (Spring).
- A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
- Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
- Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or have recently graduated.
- Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- Experience in Process Development, Quality Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technical Services is required.
- Strong ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to identify trends and inefficiencies.
- Strong problem solving mindset and demonstrated capability to solve problems leveraging a systematic approach with data.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document findings, present data, and collaborate with team members.
- Understanding of Lean, Agile, or Toyota Production System is preferred.
- Knowledge of cGMPs or equivalent regulations in a laboratory environment is a plus.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry is a plus.
