Responsibilities
- Elicit and document requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and viewpoints.
- Write requirements specifications using standard templates, expressed in clear natural language; represent requirements with alternative views (diagrams, prototypes, scenarios) where appropriate.
- Conduct data analysis, data mapping activities, and document data needs.
- Analyze and document user workflows and create/update workflows and processes.
- Decompose high-level requirements into functional requirements with appropriate detail for stakeholders.
- Work with product owners to align priorities and build product backlog with epics and refined stories for the development team.
- Create user story maps, write user stories with acceptance criteria, and review/update with the development team in refinement sessions and scrum events.
- Conduct refinement sessions for Scrum teams in preparation for story pointing and sprint planning.
- Plan, manage, and track team work items; plan and facilitate project discovery sessions.
- Identify current and future-state business processes; define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and nonfunctional requirements.
- Perform requirements analysis and verification to ensure statements are complete, consistent, concise, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and conform to standards.
- Translate business requirements to System/Functional specifications and pass them to Application Developers.
- Coordinate business validation to verify end-to-end processes function as intended.
- Participate in peer reviews and inspections of documents and work products to ensure correct interpretation of requirements.
- Manage requirements traceability and status throughout the project.
- Analyze and document requirements for object-oriented applications, relational databases, complex queries, interfaces, extraction processes, reports, and dashboards using multi-system data.
- Lead design and implementation of multi-faceted, complex application development projects in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and IT functions.
- Problem-solve through problem definition, information gathering, alternatives analysis, and implementation of appropriate solutions.
- Communicate clearly and translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders; present complex information in an understandable way.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team and maintain relationships with business customers and technology staff at all levels.
- Prioritize across multiple in-flight initiatives and requirements; provide knowledge transfer.
Qualifications / Desired Skills
- Eight (8) years of experience in an IT Business Analyst role.
- Three (3) years of experience as an IT Business Analyst on Agile project/product teams.
- Experience with data migration, data mapping, and data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
- Experience with backlog management, story writing, and story refinement.
- Experience with Agile work management tools (JIRA).
- Leadership, mentoring and coaching skills for IT professionals.
- Experience performing and advanced knowledge of QA and Project Management activities.
- Scrum Master experience.
- Business Analyst Certification (IIBA or equivalent).
