Position Description
The IT Support Technician II’s scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of basic hardware and some software support and maintenance. This position will also specialize in hardware and software relevant to the department or unit.
Major/Essential Functions
- Provide technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with basic hardware and some software support and maintenance.
- Specialize in hardware and software relevant to the department or unit.
- Demonstrate non-technical skills: customer service orientation, collaborative interdependent work style, teamwork, strong written/verbal/listening communication, self-motivation, and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, TTUHSC staff and students.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years. Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check after a conditional offer of employment, but before employment is confirmed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized certification in PC Support field (Preferred CompTia A+).
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with network domain environments.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, TTUHSC staff and students.
- Must be able to lift 10 to 50 pounds.
