- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
- The Certified Surgical Technician will be responsible for a variety of technical and routine tasks to facilitate the care of the patient.
- This position delivers care in a prompt and professional manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect.
- The Technician works as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support departmental objectives.
- Prepares for the pre-assigned cases using the physician's preference.
- Setting up the operating room prior to surgery.
- Opens supplies/instruments utilizing aseptic technique.
- Pass instruments to surgeons during surgery.
- Follows established policies and procedures as they relate to counting of sponges, instruments, etc.
- Initiates corrective action when counts are incorrect.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and communicate effectively with the team to ensure quality of patient care.
- Perform any and all other duties assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology.
- Surgical Technician Certification.
- One (1) year of surgical scrub experience.
