Psychiatry Opening in Muskegon, MI Grand Rapids 40mFull-time, PermanentSeeking a Psychiatrist to join its dynamic and multidisciplinary Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position offering a supportive clinical environment, academic opportunities, and flexible scheduling that is ideal for both experienced psychiatrists and recent graduates.Position Overview Location: Muskegon, MI Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexibility available) Call: 1:4 weekend rotation Position Type: Full-time, inpatient Patient Population: Adult inpatients (behavioral health unit)Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans Diagnose and treat a range of mental health conditions in adult inpatients Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications Participate in daily clinical rounds with a fully staffed multidisciplinary care team, including APPs, RNs, social workers, case managers, and specialists Accurately document in the electronic medical record system Optional: pick up additional shifts for extra compensation Academic engagement: Opportunity to teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows Additional pathways for involvement in research, outpatient services, or leadership roles based on interest and departmental needsTeam & Environment Collaborative, mission-driven behavioral health team Strong staffing support ensures efficient care delivery and work-life balance Teaching hospital environment with ongoing educational opportunities Focused on patient-centered care and inter-professional collaborationCandidate Requirements Board Status: Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Psychiatry (must become BC within 2 years of eligibility) - Required Licensure: Active Michigan license - Required at time of employment DEA - Required BLS - Required (must be maintained throughout employment) Experience: Open to both new graduates and experienced psychiatristsCompensation & Benefits Salary: Competitive base salary based on experience and training (discussed at interview) Call Compensation: Additional income opportunities for extra shifts Relocation Assistance: Available to support relocation to Muskegon or surrounding area Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage Malpractice insurance with full tail coverage Retirement: 403(b) plan with employer contributions and matching Paid Time Off: Generous PTO and holidays CME: Annual CME funds plus licensure reimbursementWhy Consider This Role?
