Freelance Dress Designer
to their team. Salary/Hourly Rate: $35/hr - $40/hr Position Overview: Our client is seeking a talented Freelance Dress Designer to join the in-office team. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical skill, and industry knowledge to the design process, developing compelling dress concepts from idea to execution. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in women’s dresses who is eager to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic design environment. Responsibilities of the Freelance Dress Designer:
Create original dress designs aligned with brand direction and seasonal concepts.
Develop detailed sketches and technical design packages using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Collaborate with patternmakers, technical designers, and production teams to ensure accurate translation of designs.
Research trends, fabrics, and trims to incorporate innovative details into collections.
Present design ideas and support cross-functional meetings throughout the design cycle.
Assist in managing sample development and fit sessions as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Dress Designer:
Minimum 5 years of experience designing women’s dresses.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Proven ability to develop creative, trend-right designs with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Dress Designer:
Knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and fabric development.
Experience working with domestic and overseas vendors.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design is required.
