Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Responsibilities

Install, configure, and manage RHEL systems and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environments. Administer KVM virtualization, Puppet automation, and kernel-level tuning. Implement system patching, STIG compliance, and release/version control. Monitor performance, handle incident response, and ensure uptime and data integrity. Automate tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or equivalent configuration management tools. Maintain backup and recovery solutions and ensure disaster recovery readiness. Conduct system audits and enforce DoD security requirements. Maintain accurate and comprehensive configuration documentation. Note: This role is for a Linux System Administrator working at the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; non-remote with relocation incentive available. Qualifications

Must be a US Citizen. Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance. MS or BA/BS in computer sciences or information technology with two (2+) additional years of experience. Five (5+) years of relevant IT or Service Desk experience. IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP). Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA). Ability to work with customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions. Preferred

ITIL v4 certification. Experience with incident management within ServiceNow ITSM. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Experience documenting technical processes and procedures. Experience in a DoD environment. Strong problem-solving, self-motivation, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Salary

Salary Range: $55,000 - $92,000 per year. Several factors influence the final salary, including contract wage determinations, experience, location, and certifications. Benefits
