Northrop Grumman Defense Systems currently has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer, in

Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO , to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This role supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for ICBM Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and related infrastructure.

What You Will Get To Do

Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts. Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content for large programs. Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure they are properly represented in the model. Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical). Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis. Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes for model development, tool integration, and team integration.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years’ experience; 3 years’ experience with a Masters in STEM; or 0 years’ experience with a PhD. Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance. 3+ years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool. 1+ year experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systems. 1+ year experience in team environments with leadership responsibilities. 1+ year experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Large-scale/complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production. Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, practices, and methods. Strong understanding of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for systems of systems development. Strong oral and written communication skills with experience presenting to high-value customers and managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

Salary range:

$100,300.00 - $158,000.00 . The above salary range is a general guideline; base offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may be available depending on the position. Long-Term Incentives may apply for VP/Director levels.
