Our client, a successful midstream organization, seeks a highly skilled

Senior SCADA Developer

to support enterprise-level SCADA operations across a complex and fast-paced environment. This role is critical in designing, developing, and optimizing SCADA applications and data systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, SQL, and the Ignition platform (Vision, Perspective, Edge, EAM). Development and integration with field devices and communication protocols. This position offers the opportunity to enhance automation capabilities and ensure reliable data flow to meet operational demands. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain SCADA applications within the Ignition platform (Vision, Perspective, Edge, EAM). Optimize databases by troubleshooting queries, designing indexes, and tuning PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB for real-time forecasting and modeling. Implement and support communication protocols including MQTT, OPC UA, EIP, Modbus, ROC Protocol, and DNP3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate into automated solutions, and prioritize development tasks. Integrate and manage cloud-hosted solutions in Azure, including CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. Document SCADA architectures, integrations, troubleshooting processes, and data flows. Support operations to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable SCADA performance. Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule (one week every four weeks). Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM area preferred. 6+ years of industry experience with enterprise SCADA systems (large-scale environments with >800,000 tags preferred). Proven experience with the Ignition SCADA platform (Vision, Perspective, Edge, EAM). Advanced experience in Python, SQL. Experience with SCADA communication protocols: MQTT (with SPB specification), OPC UA, EIP, Modbus, ROC Protocol, DNP3. Experience with Azure cloud hosting and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Availability for rotating 24/7 on-call support. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license. Preferred Skills

Expertise with PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB, including query optimization and performance tuning. Knowledge of GIS concepts. Experience applying machine learning for forecasting or anomaly detection. Work location and schedule

This role is onsite in Houston, TX on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, with work-from-home on Thursday and every other Friday (9-80s). Application & Equal Opportunity
