Senior Principal RF Antenna System Engineer
to work in our
St.Petersburg, FL
office. The Leidos facility in St. Petersburg provides design, development, modeling and simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing of advanced electronic systems, with a focus on embedded communication systems, Software Defined Radios and Phased Array Antenna Systems to various DOD and commercial customers. Responsibilities
Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers to design, analysis/simulation, test and manufacture of phased array antenna systems Perform requirements management & traceability for various antenna systems Perform technical oversight, work with customers and programs to develop antenna system concepts that lead to defined antenna system requirements and specifications and perform trade studies Generate technical documentation including system architecture, test plans/procedures, test reports and providing recommendations on technologies and industry trends Contribute to future capture/pursuit opportunities, including white papers, RFI responses, or proposal of technical volumes Basic Qualifications
Candidate must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Requires BS degree and 15 to 20 years prior relevant experience or Masters with 13-18 years of prior relevant experience Experience in designing, simulating, fabricating and testing of various shaped (planar, cylindrical, spherical, etc.) complex phased array antenna systems Experience in measuring phased array antenna in near and far field systems and processed algorithms for near field to far field Proficient with modeling and simulation tools such as HFSS, FEKO and Matlab Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplined engineering team and to hold technical design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, and TIM) with customers A broad knowledge of project management Excellent communication skills- oral and written Preferred Qualifications
Active Security Clearance Possessed strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and concepts, phased array antenna systems and RF/Microwave systems Experience in developing algorithms to enhanced phased array antenna such as nulling, self-healing and digital beamforming Experience in working in various type of antenna facilities and use of antenna test and measurement equipment such as network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, RF power meter and RF signal generator Working knowledge of the radio frequency spectrum and modern communication infrastructures to include signal structures, propagation, modulation types, data rates, multiplexing/demultiplexing methods
