The primary purpose of this position is to underwrite new business and renewals profitably and according to authority level and established guidelines, and participate in special projects impacting the business. You will handle larger and more important agents/brokers, utilize underwriting tools for accurate classifications, rates, and premiums, and understand state laws including cancellation and non-renewal within your territory. Knowledge of coverage forms and policy language is essential, along with assisting in resolving premium audit disputes and coaching others.
What you'll be doing:
Underwrite wholesale business for the West Region, reviewing, analyzing, accepting, and declining risks to ensure profitability; Review terms, conditions, and pricing; handle renewal business and related servicing; Underwrite and select new business that yields underwriting profit; Communicate with regional managers and product line leaders, making recommendations on operations and procedures; Review submissions to identify exposure and risk; Implement corrective measures on renewal accounts as needed; Provide training or technical assistance to underwriting staff; Monitor producer profitability and production. What we're looking for:
Experience in wholesale underwriting; Technical knowledge and skills with increasing responsibility; Experience in the wholesale channel with a following of producers; Marketing and relationship-building skills; Four-year college degree preferred; Excellent communication skills; Strong analytical and organizational skills; Team player who enjoys a flexible environment; Up to 25% travel. #LI-Hybrid #LI-SY US Work Authorization

The salary range for the Sr. Underwriter position is $92,888 - $127,710 annually, with a 25% bonus potential, based on experience and location. Who we are:
