Delicatessen Services Co., LLC – The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for Security Department program functions for all Boar’s Head facilities, including program management, internal investigations, policy and procedure drafting/review, physical security assessments/audits, security trends and metrics analysis, security systems administration, vendor coordination, and budgetary/procurement review. Limited travel may be required to support Security Department initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Security Program Administrative Duties
Assist the senior security leadership team with ongoing program management responsibilities, including tracking, reporting, and assessing program performance through data analysis. Identify Security Department improvement opportunities with the leadership team. Assist with reviewing and drafting Security Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and procedures. Support and coordinate the security team’s annual training plans, including scheduling, tracking, reporting, and budgetary requirements. Assist with reviewing Security Incident Reports for accuracy and thoroughness; provide input as necessary. Assist with implementing and tracking Security Department corrective actions to ensure the safety and security of employees, contractors, and facilities. Assist with weekly/monthly reconciliation of Security Department resources (Full Time Employees - FTE). Assist and track liaison efforts with Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies and First Responders. Work closely with the Information Technology Department on security software updates, equipment upgrades, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
Internal Investigations
Assist the senior security leadership team with coordinating and investigating internal matters across the enterprise, working with stakeholders and management across all departments. Objectively assess evidence, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions. Examine facts, documents, and statements to avoid missing critical information while maintaining comprehensive and accurate records. Draft clear documentation, reports, and presentations of findings that identify root causes and recommended corrective actions. Handle sensitive information with care, protecting the privacy of individuals involved.
Security Department Contract and Asset Management
Review, support, and renewal of Security Department contracts for software, hardware, and consulting services. Partner with IT Procurement to ensure asset tracking covers from purchase to retirement of Security Department assets. Work with vendors to ensure security assets are serviced, replaced, and upgraded; liaise to maintain cameras, intercoms, holdup alarms, access controls, etc. Coordinate security equipment installations, planning timelines and specifications (may include after hours/weekends/holidays).
Security Department Budget, Procurement, and Asset Tracking
Assist with regular financial audits and budgeting processes. Provide ad hoc analyses and prepare data for annual budgeting; coordinate with the Service Desk to ensure end-to-end asset tracking. Assist in release, scheduling, completeness, and tracking of all procurement activities (e.g., department overtime). Coordinate with outside vendors for security quotes and invoices.
Security Department Audits, Assessments, and Metrics Trending Analysis
Assist with facility risk assessments, audits, and site visits for vendors and company sites. Assist with security metrics reporting, trend analysis, and management reporting; interpret data, recognize trends, and identify anomalies; assess risks and control effectiveness. Propose projects to improve Security Department operations; request and submit funds for upgrades. Collect, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative security data; experience with reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint); organize audit activities and coordinate with stakeholders; protect the privacy and integrity of audit findings.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other security duties as assigned. Available for after-hour calls, including weekends and holidays; may include investigations and video reviews.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or related discipline. Willing to train/mentor the right candidate. Preferred but not required: experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional, multi-team environment. Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong multitasking, organization, and autonomous work abilities; problem-solving and creative solutions.
