$65.00/hr - $100.00/hr This position is based out of Midland, Texas, with travel to support operations as needed. Salary is commensurate with experience. The Manager, Power & Automation is a leadership role that will provide mentorship, supervision and expertise to the Power, Automation, and Measurement teams. The Manager will support the team to optimize operations, lead electricians, instrumentation/automation, and measurement technicians in daily activities. This position reports to the Vice President Operations. Essential Job Duties Serves as liaison between Management and Field Supervises and coordinates activities of electricians, instrumentation/automation, and measurement technicians to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately Ensures staff are adequately trained and addresses technical training needs Liaises with Asset Integrity & Reliability to ensure measurement data quality in Maximo and coordinates training as appropriate Ensures optimal coverage and efficiency to support operations by coordinating with Electrical Supervisor and Measurement Supervisor Reviews and analyzes measurement data for quality Enhances visibility and communication with leadership and third-party vendors for project goals, timelines, and deliverables Assists in monthly financial and operational lease review meetings and supports related expenses Ensures safety of personnel by monitoring and reporting hazards Assists in development of SOPs Oversees troubleshooting of operational problems for assigned regions Manages and maintains timecards of direct reports in compliance with Company policies Maintains a qualified staff and manages employee productivity Ensures all work sites and employees comply with Company and customer standards and policies Sets a standard for safety and attends required safety meetings Ensures ongoing employee training to develop staff Partner with Human Resources on corrective action and related administrative tasks Adheres to safety, environmental and company policies Maintains up-to-date timekeeping and adheres to assigned schedule On-call availability as scheduled by Operations This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive; other duties may be assigned as needed. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field 10 years of experience in electrical power, instrumentation, automation management 3 years as a supervisor leading teams of field technicians or programmers Experience as a programmer in PLC and SCADA systems Experience as a systems integrator using Ignition, Wonderware, Simatic, iFix, or Intellution Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations (NEC, NFPA, IEEE) Participation in PHAs, HAZOPs and PSSRs Strong knowledge of measurement tools and equipment Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Self-motivation and time-management skills for multiple priorities Experience managing projects and implementations Knowledge of electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP) Effective communication across all levels of staff and customers Adaptability in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proactive problem-solver with critical and analytical skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Valid driver's license and ability to drive Company vehicle Able to travel as required Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification Proficient in Allen Bradley RS Logix-5000 Knowledge of Modbus, Profibus and related protocols Experience with Maximo or equivalent asset management software Knowledge of metering applications and technologies Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must be able to drive and sit for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally On-call for field emergencies as needed Manual dexterity to operate equipment Exposure to loud noises and outdoor conditions Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions Possible exposure to H2S and other industry-related hazards May work in low-lit environments Must frequently use PPE; office-based with regular fieldwork Must work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines Equipment Used
