We are looking for an experienced

Senior DevOps Engineer

with over

8 years of AWS and Terraform expertise

to join our growing technology team. This role will be based on-site in

Charlotte, NC , and will play a key part in building, automating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure to support mission-critical applications. As a senior member of the team, you will design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available environments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers on best practices. Much of the work will be greenfield thus setting up DevOps processes from scratch using best industry practices is expected.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain

AWS cloud infrastructure

using

Terraform

for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Develop and enhance

CI/CD pipelines

for seamless code deployment and release management.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.

Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure robust and efficient systems.

Troubleshoot complex issues and provide root-cause analysis for production incidents.

Optimize infrastructure costs, scalability, and security in accordance with best practices.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, configurations, and processes.

Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to the adoption of new tools and technologies.

Qualifications & Requirements Must-Have Skills

8 years

of experience as a DevOps Engineer and/or Site Reliability Engineer

Proven hands-on experience with

AWS services

(EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.).

Expert-level knowledge of

Terraform

(writing reusable modules, managing state, version control of IaC).

Ability to create pipelines using GitHub Actions to deploy Terraform IaC, TypeScript lambdas, Python lambdas, and Java WAR/JAR files into containers.

Can integrate SCA (SonarQube) and SAST into the development pipeline.

Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI).

Strong Cloud and Linux administration skills and solid understanding of networking concepts.

Ability to support the Software Development team using Terraform and Serverless v3 & v4.

Expert-level knowledge of serverless architecture and event-driven workflows.

Experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with monitoring/logging stacks (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK).

Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Lead in evangelizing best DevOps practices and standards.

Ability to work using a Windows laptop to connect to remote services. WSL and Cygwin are available.

Good communications skills.

In office 5 days a week 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with QA tools (specifically Playwright & Cursor AI), specifically to add automation in the pipelines.

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

Background in security hardening and compliance in cloud environments.

Experience with infrastructure cost optimization and scaling strategies.
