Journeyman Data Scientist
to join our team in
Chantilly, VA . Responsibilities
Creating new innovative methodologies through collaboration with data visualization experts, analyst personnel, and leadership to detect threats as the insider threat landscape evolves. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies for in-depth analysis of threat data and development of algorithms that directly support analysts for proactive insider risk detection. Providing data expertise and building custom data pipelines of large data sets using commercial and/or open-source data science tools in support of big data frameworks. Developing tools and methodologies to ensure the vast amount of data, both structured and unstructured, is properly categorized, extracted, transformed, loaded, translated, integrated, visualized, and presented to the analysts in an efficient manner. Staying current on all data science methodologies, developments and industry best practices and applying those, as appropriate. Evaluating and recommending new methodologies and techniques to further develop the Insider Threat Program. Utilizing Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning techniques such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and other open-source techniques for developing natural language categorization and querying capabilities. Providing modeling approaches to assess personnel risk and suitability within a custom set of business logic and providing leadership actionable data to support their assessment/inquiry. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Modeling, Data Science, Statistics/Mathematics and five (5) years of relevant experience with statistical data modeling and software analytics. In lieu of Bachelor’s: Associates’ degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience with statistical data modeling and software analytics. Subject Matter Expertise in statistical data modeling, data science, and programming algorithms with data visualization software packages. Experience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical reports, training manuals or similar documentation. Ability and experience of effectively working independently and in teams. Ability to travel domestically. Clearance Requirements
Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Polygraph. Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
