Role As a
Principal Software Engineer II
on this team, you will be responsible for senior technical leadership for a new Connected Home - Embedded Software Engineering team focused on developing solutions for CPE (DOCSIS, PON, WiFi router, and WiFi extender).
Responsibilities
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Assigned complex and critical projects that involve several technical systems and constituents.
Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas.
Document Root Cause Analysis stemming from difficulties in existing system logic.
Test and review system designs.
Mentor and guide the work of senior technical staff.
Develop embedded software engineering solutions via Linux/C/RUST.
Develop microservices using AWS and Netflix OSS.
Design, develop, and implement software proposals with variable options.
Estimate scope of work.
Create project documentation.
Implement designs, execute project deliverables, and follow through with project managers and product owners.
Provide technical leadership and innovation on software projects through all phases of development lifecycle.
Work with OEM Chipset vendors and Original Equipment Manufacturers to architect, build and test new CPE firmware and features.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Experience:
12+ years of Software Engineering experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Technical Skills:
Extensive knowledge and implementation with open source software (Spring, Hibernate, Apache Commons, Tomcat, MySQL, Guava, Tomcat, NoSQL solutions) Java, Spring, Google Guice, JPA/Hibernate, Databases, RESTful web services, AWS, Microservices, Netflix OSS, Jersey, SOAP web services, Axis, JMS, ESB’s, XML, XSD, XSL, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript; Apache open source libraries, Maven, Git, Eclipse/NetBeans/IntelliJ, CI testing, shell scripting, Ruby; Angular and front-end web technologies
Extensive knowledge and implementation with open source software such as Angular or React (Angular, Micro Frontends, RESTful Web services, GraphQL, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript, Git, CI testing, Unit Testing)
Skills:
Thorough understanding of software engineering and object oriented design principles; effective development experience in Java and web technologies; experience with dependency management and CI tools; leadership and technical decisiveness
Abilities:
Read, write, speak, and understand English
