Base pay range $145,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Gotham Technology Group Senior Technical Recruiter at Gotham Technology Group The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable AWS/Azure environments that support business applications and operations. This role requires a proactive engineer who can work independently and collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.) Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and reduce manual effort Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and costs in AWS/Azure environments Develop and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM, VPC configurations, encryption, and compliance with industry standards Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related performance, connectivity, and scaling issues Partner with development and DevOps teams to support containerized and microservices-based applications Stay current with AWS innovations and recommend adoption of relevant tools and services Maintain technical documentation, cost estimates, and deployment playbooks Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 7+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience with strong emphasis on AWS (Azure a plus) Proven expertise with core AWS services: EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, VPC, API Gateway, ECS/EKS Strong automation experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting (Python, Ansible) Solid understanding of networking (VPC, DNS, VPN, NAT) and security best practices in AWS Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) Familiarity with cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA preferred) AWS certification (Solutions Architect or DevOps Professional strongly preferred) Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Seniority level
