Meet is partnering with a publicly traded biotech company in the Chicago area that’s looking to hire a
Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller
to join their growing team. This is a high-impact role where you'll lead critical accounting functions and help scale and optimize finance systems during a dynamic phase of growth. Key Responsibilities Lead improvements and automation of accounting systems and processes within
Microsoft Business Central , identifying and executing opportunities to streamline operations. Support the monthly and quarterly
financial close
process — including oversight of
Accounts Payable, Payroll, Leases, and Stock Compensation
— and prepare/review journal entries and reconciliations. Contribute to the preparation of
SEC filings , including
10-Ks and 10-Qs . Ensure compliance with
US GAAP
and support internal accounting policy alignment. Oversee the
1099 reporting process
and assist with additional
tax and audit requests . Take on
ad hoc technical accounting projects , as needed. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. 5+ years of accounting experience , ideally in a public company or in a role aligned with the responsibilities listed above. Solid knowledge of
US GAAP , particularly stock-based compensation, fair value measurements, and lease accounting. Proficiency with
Microsoft 365 Suite . Hands-on experience with
Microsoft Business Central
and
Certent . A continuous improvement mindset with experience optimizing workflows and implementing process improvements. Ability to work on-site full-time
in Wilmette, IL (this role is not remote or hybrid). Seniority level
