Overview
Our client is a prominent vertically integrated investment and management firm of high performing commercial real estate assets in key US markets with a focus on special situation investing and commercial real estate credit. The company is seeking a candidate with a maximum of 3 years of experience to join their Capital Markets team as they expand their national footprint, with a portfolio that totals 10 million square feet across various markets. The position sits in the firm’s metro-accessible office located in Washington, DC. Responsibilities
This role will be involved in all aspects of investments, acquisitions, and asset management. Evaluate, pursue and execute on investments across property sectors (industrial, office, multifamily, retail, hospitality, etc.) and up and down the capital stack (equity, preferred equity, mezzanine and senior debt). Perform asset and market-level research and diligence to evaluate transaction opportunities. Model various capital structures to finance each transaction in Excel. Generate and analyze return estimates for deal opportunities. Generate property cash flow projections. Integrate ARGUS outputs into Microsoft Excel models. Synthesize presentations and memos for internal committee review. Be involved in live deal processes, including coordination of and participation in review and analysis of due diligence materials. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance required. 1-3 years of professional experience in real estate or finance-related fields. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ARGUS proficiency strongly preferred but not required. Strong analytical skills and solid financial aptitude; accuracy and attention to detail are critical. Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to manage multiple transactions; comfortable in a fast-paced, informal, fluid environment with changing priorities. Ability to work with minimal supervision while allocating time between multiple tasks, deadlines and opportunities. Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills. Compensation
