Overview

Our client, a fast growing entertainment and events company on Chicago's near north side, is searching for a pro-active and experienced Controller to join their dynamic team in Chicago. The Controller is responsible for executing and overseeing daily accounting and finance initiatives and while ensuring that the best practices are in place to maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will be onsite in the Chicago office and will have previous experience managing a team and working with multiple legal entities. This role will report to the office 5 days a week. Base pay

$120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction to finance staff located across the U.S. Maximize return on assets by establishing and overseeing financial policies and procedures Proactively drive actions to improve profitability, cashflow, and long-term performance. Serve as a key point of contact or the finance department and auditors Maximize return and limit risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments Prepare budgets and consolidate financial data Achieve budget objectives through expenditures Supervise accounting team on day-to-day accounting operations including, month/year-end close, accounts receivable and payable, financial reports, variance analyses, payroll, invoicing, cash receipts and disbursements. Develop a cash flow projection process and reporting, to ensure availability of timely and adequate capital for operating needs. Running and reviewing expense trending reports monthly. Continually review accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with GAAP and statutory accounting. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing and ensure all returns are filed timely and accurately. Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive company and financial information Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, required. 5+ years of experience working in high revenue environments. Quickbooks Payroll Processing experience required. Experience working with and consolidating multiple legal entities required CPA preferred, but not required Details
