Job Responsibilities
Manage the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of closing journal entries and account reconciliations, as well as the preparation of month-end financial statements and analysis.
Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, and posting transactions such as revenue, accounts receivable, cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and payroll in accordance with US GAAP.
Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to expedite daily accounting and month-end close processes to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate, timely reporting.
Prepare/review monthly bank reconciliations.
Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets.
Analyze financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to summarize and interpret the current and projected financial position of the company.
Work with accounting leadership to research technical accounting issues and assist with implementing accounting policies and procedures.
Support the execution of the annual audit by providing requested documentation timely.
Support management with special projects, process improvements and other responsibilities as assigned (i.e. system implementation, adoption of new GAAP standard, mergers and acquisitions).
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is strongly preferred.
2-5 years of progressive accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have a combination of corporate accounting and consulting experience.
CPA highly preferred.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial close processes as well as internal control and SOX compliance experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a desire to take on new projects, problem-solve, and drive process improvement in responsible areas to ensure processes and systems are efficient and effective.
Proficiency with modern ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
Strong planning and organizational skills to consistently meet deliverable deadlines.
Team oriented, results oriented, with a commitment to client satisfaction.
