Overview
Seattle, WA — Our client, a local General Contractor, is looking for a
Project Accountant
to manage project accounting and compliance on large commercial construction projects. This role provides financial oversight from project setup through closeout, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong collaboration with project teams. Responsibilities
Manage project cost accounting from contract setup, job cost cycle, through compliance and close of the project Process and review invoices, pay applications, and budget updates Track and reconcile change orders and financial revisions Prepare job cost reports, owner/lender draw packages, and monthly close support Ensure compliance with contracts, insurance, and lien release requirements Collaborate with project and accounting teams to align budgets and cost codes Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field At least 5 years of experience in construction accounting for large projects Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, reporting, and compliance Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Experience with Spectrum or similar systems is preferred; familiarity with Procore or related systems is a plus Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills Benefits
