Overview Title: Certified Epic Beaker CP Analyst – Microbiology & Data Innovation

Location: Fully Remote with quarterly travel required.

Duration: 1+ years

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Epic Beaker CP, specifically supporting Microbiology functionality.

Design and implement microbiology-specific workflows, including culture setup, organism identification, susceptibility testing, and automated instrumentation integration.

Translate clinical and laboratory needs into Epic configuration, rules, and workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices.

Develop and implement data innovations to support microbiology reporting, surveillance, quality improvement, and public health reporting.

Partner with Infection Control, Epidemiology, and Clinical Informatics teams to support reporting, dashboards, and analytics related to microbiology and antimicrobial stewardship.

Collaborate with technical teams to design and validate instrument interfaces, specimen tracking, and automated result entry.

Participate in full lifecycle project activities including requirements gathering, build, testing, training, go-live support, and optimization.

Perform system testing and validation, including writing test scripts, executing integrated tests, and documenting results.

Provide Tier 2/3 support for microbiology-related issues post-go-live.

Monitor system performance, data quality, and workflow efficiencies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Current Epic Beaker CP Certification required.

4+ years of experience supporting Epic Beaker CP in a healthcare or laboratory setting.

4-5 Beaker implementations.

Strong understanding of clinical microbiology laboratory workflows, including specimen processing, culture methodologies, susceptibility testing, and result interpretation.

Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Clarity, Caboodle, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, and regulatory requirements for microbiology labs.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
