Overview

The IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a vital role in managing and supporting the organization’s users, systems, and IT infrastructure across multiple locations, including the Microsoft Cloud platform. Serving as a key subject matter expert (SME) within the IT infrastructure team, this role collaborates closely with stakeholders to design, implement, maintain, and secure robust computing infrastructure solutions—both on-premise and in Microsoft Azure Cloud. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Design, implement and manage the computing infrastructure technologies and cloud services delivered. Establish, promote, and enforce infrastructure best practices for system configuration and IT operations and security to ensure continuous availability, data integrity, performance and consistency across all platforms and systems. Proactively plan IT infrastructure to support employee information, business growth and compliance needs. Availability to provide after-hours/on-call support, as needed. Provide high-level support to technical team members locally and at remote sites regarding systems maintenance, implementation, and troubleshooting. Education & Experience

BS in Comp Science, Engineering or related field; typically requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 5 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without years’ experience; or equivalent work experience. Must be able to obtain and maintain secret US Security clearance. Microsoft Azure Administrator certification required. Minimum 5+ years of similar IT systems administration experience in a mid to large manufacturing environment. Minimum 2 years managing Microsoft Azure infrastructures including major services related to compute, storage, network and security services. Skills

Extensive skills in data center services and management both on premises and in the cloud. Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and Microsoft Cloud offerings, capabilities, and limitations. In-depth knowledge and experience implementing or supporting Microsoft 365 applications including Exchange, Office products and MDM solutions. Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance, connectivity and security issues. Able to design and implement Windows servers and services (Active Directory, Virtualization, etc.) as needed. Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, hypervisor, storage, monitoring, security, etc.). Experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution. Knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft Server, Linux/Unix), and network/data communication protocols and technologies. Experience with Windows Server Administration, Windows Server and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, and patching. Experience in supporting Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IIS, SSL, SMTP, and NLB (or other load-balancing technologies). Experience with enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring and DR solutions/processes. Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing solutions/platform (specifically Microsoft Azure). Strong working knowledge of backup, restore, recovery and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments. Windows PowerShell experience related to Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Exchange. Strong knowledge of email security and security practices. Knowledge of SOX and/or DFAR compliance essential. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with end-users and management. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision including planning and prioritizing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. Excellent working and customer service skills including verbal, written, telephone techniques, listening skills, sense of urgency and enthusiasm. Ability to identify and assess alternatives, make decisions, and communicate the process and logic. Must be collaborative, facilitative, team-oriented, and self-motivated. Willing to travel, approximately 10%-25%. Working Conditions

Job operates in a professional office environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Work in a cubicle area – must be able to work in an environment where employees are on the phone/speaking causing potential distractions throughout the day. Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds short distances with or without assistance. Must be able to bend, squat or crawl to reach low objects or tight spaces. Compliance & Corporate
