About The Leasing Consultant Position We’re looking for a talented leasing consultant who will coordinate all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals. The leasing consultant interacts directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect.
Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents; generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move-in paperwork.
Ensure model apartments are in touring condition.
Orient prospective and current residents to the property; process renewal paperwork and deliver documentation monthly.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of traffic activity in the computer system.
Follow up with all prospective residents via phone, mail or email and convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments.
Inspect apartments prior to move-ins and coordinate move-in/out with the maintenance team.
Create and maintain confidential resident files and review move-in paperwork with new residents.
Complete weekly leasing reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure all open and close procedures are completed daily.
Assist with ongoing resident relations and respond to requests promptly and accurately.
Shop competitive properties and inspect buildings to ensure safety and cleanliness.
Assist with processing work order requests and provide clerical support as needed.
May assist with planning and implementing resident activities to increase retention.
Comply with all company policies, health and safety rules, and applicable laws.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
High school diploma is required.
Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred.
One year of previous residential leasing experience is preferred.
Skills And Requirements
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management; ability to handle confidential matters.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with urgency.
Detail-oriented; able to convey technical concerns clearly.
English literacy (reading, writing, speaking).
Ability to operate general office equipment and the key track system.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to de-escalate difficult situations.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and current auto insurance is required.
Must comply with all safety requirements.
Must complete and pass Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment.
