About The Team Our Corporate Accounting team builds the financial foundation for Canva’s scale. We leverage automation, technology, and AI to simplify processes and create scalable systems that support growth. The team is central to delivering accurate, timely financials and operational excellence as Canva expands globally. About The Role We are looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead and elevate the general ledger team (5 members). You will set the direction for GL operations, lead a high-performing team, and architect processes and systems that support scale, speed, and accuracy. You will drive operational excellence across the monthly close, strengthen controls, and simplify workflows. This role suits a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and is excited about transforming accounting through automation, process improvement, and AI. What You’ll Do Lead and develop a high-performing General Ledger Accounting team, fostering growth, ownership, and continuous improvement. Oversee the monthly close for the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and related financial reporting deliverables. Set the strategy for automation and process improvements to streamline GL operations, reduce close timelines, and leverage scalable, tech-enabled solutions — including AI. Strengthen internal controls and support SOX compliance, audit readiness, and documentation across key processes. Act as a strategic partner across the business, collaborating with FP&A, Tax, Finance Systems, and operational teams to simplify and scale financial processes. What We’re Looking For Experience leading Manager-level accounting teams in high-growth and public company environments. CPA (or equivalent) required. Deep expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls. Track record of driving accounting transformation with interest or experience in AI-enabled automation. Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence and align across teams. Proven ability to lead teams in dynamic, high-growth environments with focus and clarity. Roll-up-your-sleeves mindset; comfortable with both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
