Director of Operations Accounting role at Johanna Foods, Inc. Job Summary

Leads the cost accounting for three distinct business units: Yogurt, Juice/Beverage and Smoothie. Trains and develops staff of cost accountants to ensure accurate reporting of results. Manages all costing projects. Reviews department prepared reports for accuracy, completeness and reasonableness. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of balance sheet accounts and associated reconciliations. Organizes monthly close, division monthly incentive performance and presents findings to management. Partners with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to report KPIs on yield, inventory, and costs. Leads Accounts Payable staff and performs final review and approval for daily payments. Directs and coordinates special projects including manufacturing issues, completes quarterly census reporting and the plant-wide annual physical inventory. Responsibilities

Maintain, and reconcile inventory and usage records including purchases, usage, and variances (gains/losses). Ensure Balance Sheet and P&L accuracy, identify sources of variances and drivers to target for performance improvement. Prepare weekly and monthly operations reports for management, including gain/loss schedule, weeks of inventory, manufacturing costs, productivity, and analysis of major COGS components. Prepare monthly closing journal entries. Analyze production overhead expense. Analyze and present monthly divisional contribution margin. Maintain G/L system account structure and calendar dates, run system jobs to ensure data interface/roll-up. Analyze and monthly reconciliation of G/L balance sheet accounts. Maintain an Excel-based actual costing system for all finished products. Maintain rapport with various levels of management in manufacturing and supply chain; stay current with changes in plant facilities and operations; attend manufacturing meetings. Prepare product costing for new products, analyze impact of input changes to product costs for existing items. Responsible for IC Discount calculation and reconciliation with auditor. Assist in year-end physical inventory. Qualifications

Bachelor degree with a concentration in Accounting; CPA license preferred. Minimum of fifteen years public/private accounting with at least eight years in a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical, interpersonal and computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Curiosity and desire to dive into the detail. Commitment to continuous process improvement. Company Description
