Summary: Macdonald & Company is exclusively retained to appoint a Senior Accountant, on behalf of a market-leading property management firm, based in Steamboat Springs, CO. This role is based full time in Steamboat Springs, CO. About: We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and take a lead role in supporting our HOA and property management portfolio. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys mentoring others, and wants to make a direct impact on both clients and internal teams. What you’ll do: Lead day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of associations. Review and approve financials, budgets, invoices, and reconciliations. Train and guide accounting staff and association managers. Oversee month-end and year-end reporting, including audits, cash flow, and variance analyses. Act as the finance point of contact at HOA board meetings. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls. Support tax filings, owner statements, and special projects. What we’re looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience). 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software (QuickBooks, VMS, etc.). Excellent communicator with a knack for problem-solving and attention to detail. Leadership qualities - able to mentor teammates and step up when needed. You’ll be part of a respected property management organization with a diverse portfolio and a supportive culture.
