We are seeking a detail-oriented and intellectually curious Philanthropy Prospect Research Analyst to join our dynamic fundraising operations team. This role is responsible for identifying, researching, and analyzing donor prospects to support strategic fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will combine advanced analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and high proficiency in donor databases, AI-enhanced research tools and data analysis. This individual must also have a deep understanding of fundraising strategies, marketing and communication principles, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a collaborative and goal-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth research on individuals, corporations, and foundations to assess capacity, philanthropic interests, and affinity to the organization. Analyze and validate donor and financial data to identify patterns, trends, and relationships that inform prospect strategy and enhance donor engagement. Synthesize data from multiple sources to assess the affinity, capacity and propensity of prospects Write accurate and strategic research profiles, briefings, and memos to support gift officers and leadership. Build and maintain queries and reports in fundraising databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, CRM systems) to support prospect identification, tracking, and portfolio management. Utilize AI-powered tools and other advanced technologies to improve research workflows and data insights. Collaborate closely with gift officers to inform cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. Lead or contribute to special research projects that support campaign planning, pipeline development, and data-driven decision-making. Maintain high standards of confidentiality, ethics, and data integrity in all research activities. Leverage analytics, business intelligence tools, and modeling to inform prospecting strategies and pipeline development.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly. Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Advanced level technology and database skills, including experience with fundraising information systems such as Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud Analytics, Microsoft Office Suite, and other CRM/fundraising software. Knowledge of fundraising strategies, the donor cycle, and effective marketing and communication principles.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field Required: 3 years of experience in fundraising or prospect research 3 years of progressively responsible experience in philanthropy research preferred 3 years of advanced technology and database usage, including demonstrated proficiency with systems such as Raiser’s Edge, CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and fundraising tools like Blackbaud Analytics preferred
