Position Summary

We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented

Vice President of Finance

who doesn’t just navigate complexity—they excel in it. With a minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting and financial operations, this role is ideal for someone ready to bring structure and clarity to a dynamic, fast-moving environment. You'll play a key role in shaping the financial foundation of a highly diverse organization made up of 200+ legal entities, including private businesses, trusts, and investment vehicles. We’re seeking a hands-on problem-solver with a systems-thinking approach—someone who’s ready to build from the ground up and take full ownership of financial operations. Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Oversight

Lead the day-to-day accounting across a diverse and growing portfolio of 200+ legal entities, including private businesses, trusts, and investment vehicles.

Oversee core functions, AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and intercompany activity, with a focus on accuracy and consistency.

Ensure a smooth, timely monthly and quarterly close process that supports business insights and strategic planning.

Review and deliver internal financial statements that inform decision-making at the highest level.

Design and deliver clear, tailored consolidated financial reports that meet the unique needs of a sophisticated family office.

Develop standardized templates and dashboards to track key performance indicators and surface actionable insights.

Coordinate reporting across a broad array of entities and asset types with precision and attention to detail.

Systems & Process Improvement

Lead efforts to streamline and unify financial systems, charts of accounts, and workflows across entities.

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to enhance system integration, automation, and reporting capabilities.

Identify opportunities to simplify, improve, and future-proof the finance function through thoughtful process design.

Cash Management & Forecasting

Support day-to-day cash flow tracking and short-term forecasting for real-time visibility across entities.

Facilitate fund transfers and maintain a proactive approach to liquidity and capital planning.

Tax & Audit Coordination

Serve as the point of contact for external tax advisors and auditors, managing filings, schedules, and year-end preparation.

Ensure all financial data is organized, accurate, and ready for review.

Compliance & Internal Controls

Champion strong internal controls and compliance protocols to support the integrity and transparency of financial operations.

Document and refine financial policies and procedures to align with evolving business needs.

Build and develop a lean, high-performing team, or manage external partners with the same level of care and accountability.

Foster a culture of ownership, clarity, and continuous improvement as the finance function scales.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA certification is strongly preferred.

At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial operations, ideally in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.

A solid track record managing complex, multi-entity structures—including trusts, closely held businesses, and investment vehicles.

Experience in a family office, investment firm, or privately held company is highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to handle high transaction volumes and large datasets with accuracy and efficiency.

Proficiency with financial systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage Intacct—and a knack for leveraging tech to improve outcomes.

Hands-on experience in building, optimizing, and overhauling financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.

Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to documentation excellence.
