Position Summary
Gulf Winds Credit Union
is looking for a
Vice President of Accounting and Controller
to join its Senior Leadership Team and oversee all accounting functions. This strategic position leads the Accounting Department to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), NCUA regulations, and CECL modeling requirements. The VP will manage the Core Accounting System and related process automation workflows, while also acting as the primary liaison with auditors and regulators. By analyzing financial performance in relation to the budget and historical trends, this leader will provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to support the credit union’s long-term objectives. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, people-oriented leader with strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders. Adaptability, a growth mindset, and experience in a credit union or banking environment are crucial for success in this role. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required, along with a minimum of seven years of experience in accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis within financial institutions. A CPA or a master’s degree is preferred. Company Profile
