The current salary range for this position is $80,800 to $128,700 (Assistant Professor) or $99,600 to $149,000 (Associate Professor) (9-month academic year salary). However, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions. Anticipated start:

The Department of English at the University of California, Berkeley is hiring a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor specializing in Disability Studies. We welcome work in any historical period or periods and from a wide range of critical and theoretical perspectives. Assistant and Associate Professors at Berkeley are expected to excel in research, teaching, and service. Elements of the position include: implementing a program of research culminating in books and articles; developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate seminars and undergraduate lecture courses; mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; supervising dissertation research; and participating in administrative activities in the English department and across the University. Berkeley’s English department is a large and thriving intellectual community with opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and professional development.
