Position Summary We are seeking excellent candidates for High School JV Soccer Assistant Coach for the Winter Season. We seek coaches that are high energy, skilled, organized and good leaders who can create a positive atmosphere in which our student athletes can thrive. We seek a coach who is enthusiastic about building our Soccer program. Previous coaching and/or playing experience is required; experience playing at a college level, as well as coaching soccer preferred. Coaching is a unique position of leadership which requires sound judgement amidst the emotional extremes of athletic competition. The promotion of learning is the most important outcome of educational athletics. It should be understood that our programs seek excellence and will deliver it by providing our student athletes with confidence and a clear understanding of the values of personal integrity, work ethic, self-responsibility, responsibility to others, overcoming challenges through adversity, teamwork and a progression from simple participation to development to high levels of achievement. Responsibilities
Plan and implement the scheduling of team activities, tryouts, practices, game plans and summer activities Ability to develop and execute practice and game plans for all playing positions Follow CIF rules and regulation Foster training in conduct, ethics, and sportsmanship for all participants and coaches. Supervision of the team before, during and after practices, games and sporting events. Verify that the Athletic Director has cleared each team member before allowing him/her to tryout or practice. Responsible for the distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment and providing an end of the season inventory. Work with the Athletic Director, Principal Designee, Principal and other coaches to solve problems at the school level while supporting the ideas of the program/parent concern procedures. Ability to differentiate to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles. Innovative, creative, and flexible coaching style. Understanding the developmental needs of students and how they learn best. Requires demonstrated and direct experience using a wide range of techniques. Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative. Must have excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work well with students and adults. Must be a role model and maintain a high level of professionalism. Experience with independent schools is strongly preferred. Must be willing to get: First Aid and CPR Certification, Concussion Training & Fundamentals of Coaching Certification Physical Requirements
Regularly lifting or carrying 20-50 lbs.
