We have an opening in our Monmouth Junction, NJ facility for an experienced, hands-on SR. Director/Director, Procurement. Title and salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Responsible for multiple facets of the Procurement function within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment including purchasing, sourcing, logistics, warehousing, etc.
Manage and lead a small team to develop and implement procurement strategies and operations, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, procurement systems functionality/workflows and assurance of compliance with GxP and other company and regulatory agency procurement policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all current GxPs, FDA, DEA, and OSHA regulations, as well as applicable company guidelines, standards and objectives.
Lead and/or oversee purchasing, warehousing, and logistics to maintain supply continuity while optimizing cost, quality and delivery.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support purchasing controls, budget and a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals; identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
Identify sourcing strategies, build long-term supplier relationships; negotiate contracts, terms and pricing for optimal value; monitor supplier performance and conduct regular business reviews; provide guidance for new sourcing, contracts, service agreements and capital equipment requirements.
Identify and mitigate procurement risks, enforce ethical procurement practices, and drive sustainability initiatives.
Leverage procurement technologies (ERP) to enhance efficiency; stay current on market trends and emerging technologies to apply best practices.
Manage annual procurement budget (savings, cost avoidance, inflation) and track spending; analyze market trends to forecast pricing and supply availability.
Lead/oversee Order Fulfillment from production release to customer delivery; ensure timely and accurate shipment of finished goods domestically and internationally; coordinate with customer service, planning and distribution teams to meet SLAs.
Oversee Warehouse operations (receiving, storage, distribution); implement inventory control to maintain optimal stock and minimize obsolescence; ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance in warehouse operations.
Coach and mentor direct reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and minimum 9 years of experience in procurement, logistics and/or supply chain roles with increasing responsibility in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing.
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMPs and pharmaceutical supply chain dynamics.
Working knowledge of sustainable procurement practices, supplier diversity and responsible sourcing.
Proficiency with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (JDE) or equivalent.
Strong negotiation and people management skills.
Work Arrangements: This position requires working in our Monmouth Junction, NJ office 5 days per week.
Anticipated salary range: $210,000 to $260,000. Base salary offered is contingent on assessment of candidate’s education and experience relative to requirements and related industry standards.
