Overview The Director of Warehouse and Logistics will lead NAPPCO Fastener Company's multi-site distribution operations, overseeing all aspects of warehouse management, inventory control, logistics, and shipping/receiving. This role requires a hands-on, servant leader with proven expertise in optimizing warehouse processes, enhancing quality control, developing people, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring structure, mentorship, and operational excellence to a growing team across multiple Texas locations.

Location & Travel Location: Based in Houston with travel to San Antonio and Dallas (40%). Reports To: President. Department: Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Leadership

Develop and implement a long-term operational road-map aligned with company goals and customer expectations.

Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure warehouse and logistics strategies support growth, efficiency, and service standards.

Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve cost-effectiveness, scalability, and service levels.

Anticipate future infrastructure and staffing needs based on sales growth and market trends.

Warehouse Operations & Quality Control

Oversee daily warehouse activities at all locations—receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping—with a focus on accuracy, safety, and speed.

Standardize warehouse practices through documented SOPs and ensure 100% compliance with OSHA and internal safety guidelines.

Drive quality control initiatives to reduce order errors, improve packing standards, and increase customer satisfaction.

Implement and monitor KPIs for order fulfillment, cycle time, and returns.

Inventory & Distribution Management

Lead robust inventory control strategies to minimize shrinkage, improve turnover, and ensure accurate real-time data.

Ensure collaboration between purchasing and sales to maintain optimal stock levels.

Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and customer-focused delivery.

Optimize carrier performance, route planning, and delivery schedules.

People Leadership & Team Development

Provide clear role definition, consistent feedback, and development plans for warehouse staff and supervisors.

Mentor and coach team members to create a culture of ownership, communication, and accountability.

Lead with emotional intelligence, servant leadership, and an emphasis on team well-being and performance.

Build a pipeline of internal talent and ensure team alignment with company values and operational goals.

Technology & Process Improvement

Lead the implementation and optimization of WMS and ERP systems across all locations.

Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement initiatives (LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma preferred).

Ensure proper use of technology and tools to streamline warehouse operations and improve visibility.

Financial Oversight & Performance Management

Develop and manage departmental budgets with a focus on cost control and ROI.

Track and report KPIs related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, safety, and logistics spend.

Present performance data to senior leadership with actionable insights.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field; MBA preferred.

8-10+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution leadership.

Demonstrated success in leading multi-site warehouse operations with a focus on quality, speed, and service.

Proven ability to develop teams, create role clarity, and foster a culture of communication and accountability.

Strong background in WMS and ERP systems; data-driven and tech-savvy.

Experience with quality control programs, SOPs, and safety compliance.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time across Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.

Position may be based in either Houston or San Antonio.
