Responsibilities

In the role of Associate Director, Companion Diagnostics Program Management within Precision Medicine and Translational Science, responsibilities may vary by project and development stage (early, late, lifecycle).

Manage the implementation of Biomarker Strategies and Companion Diagnostic projects to support global Development Teams.

Lead the Precision Medicine project team and deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional partners including scientific, clinical, regulatory, legal, and finance.

Coordinate resource planning across functions to ensure adequate resources are applied to the project.

Develop and maintain timelines for Precision Medicine activities and align with global Development Teams; update timelines to provide organizational transparency.

Prepare and track project budgets, manage financials (accruals and payables), and collaborate with Procurement, Business Development, and the Precision Medicine Lead to develop contracts for development partners, service providers, and research collaborators.

Identify project risks, develop mitigations, and drive resolution of issues.

Prepare regular progress reports and ad hoc reports to communicate project status across the organization.

Establish close partnerships with the DT Program Leader and Program Manager, as applicable, and with external development partners and collaborators to monitor execution.

Coordinate governance committee planning with the DT and ensure Precision Medicine team input is incorporated where endorsements are required.

Collaborate with other BMS project management groups to implement best practices, driving internal efficiencies and information sharing.

Lead the establishment and harmonization of Precision Medicine processes, identify needs for process improvements, and lead change management initiatives.

Demonstrate BMS values in actions and team interactions.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of academic and/or industry experience.

Or Master’s Degree with 10+ years of academic and/or industry experience.

Or Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences with 8+ years of experience.

4+ years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of pharma or medical device experience, 2-3 years project management experience or equivalent; PMP certification desirable.

Strong understanding of global drug development and translational processes, with ability to lead supportive project management processes.

Strong project management skills, outcomes-oriented and results-driven.

Effective communication, cross-functional collaboration, and cross-cultural awareness.

Ability to lead global, cross-functional matrixed teams with independence.

Conflict management and negotiation skills, with influence without direct authority.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and planning skills.

Understanding of project financial budgeting and contracts development processes.

Proficiency with project management tools and IT systems (Microsoft Office, Teams, Project, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Spotfire).

LI-HYBRID.

Compensation and Benefits Compensation ranges: Cambridge Crossing: $180,430 - $218,638; Madison, Giralda, NJ: $156,890 - $190,117. The starting range is for full-time employees; additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may apply. Final pay is based on experience.
