Overview
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City H + H/Queens has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director of Urology. The Director of Urology will perform a full spectrum of general and subspecialty outpatient and surgical care. Administrative responsibilities include oversight of all aspects of the urology service and supervision of staff, as well as the teaching and supervision of Mount Sinai urology residents and students in an academic community hospital setting. On call responsibility is included. Queens Hospital was recognized at ASCOs plenary session for their research efforts in enrolling patients in a diverse community and we welcome candidates who are interested in being an investigator in clinical trials for cooperative group studies, pharmaceutical studies and/or physician-initiated studies where you will have the full support of our knowledgeable research staff for both regulatory and clinical needs. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will: Provide general and subspecialty outpatient and surgical urology care. Oversee all aspects of the urology service and supervise staff. Teach and supervise Mount Sinai urology residents and students in an academic community hospital setting. Participate in on-call coverage. Engage in clinical research opportunities, including cooperative group studies, pharmaceutical studies, and physician-initiated studies with support from research staff for regulatory and clinical needs. Qualifications
Board certified/eligible by the American Board of Urology and medical license in New York State. Strong clinical abilities, teaching experience, and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in management/leadership roles and familiarity with academic medical centers or public health systems is preferred. Clinical experience in general urology with emphasis in oncology, reconstruction, female/pelvic medicine, voiding dysfunction and endourology encouraged. Facilities and Team
New York City Health + Hospitals/Queens + Elmhurst are acute care facilities and part of the largest municipal healthcare system in the country. They have Centers of Excellence in Women’s Health, Cancer Care, Diabetes Care, and Behavioral Health, and serve a highly diverse, underserved population. The facilities include three DaVinci Xi surgical robots (two at Elmhurst, one at Queens), multiple PAs/NPs, and urology residents at each site. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Urology and have a New York medical license. Faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai will correspond to credentials, experience and accomplishments.
