Overview

Position: Assistant Store Manager. Upholds the Core Values as determined by the management team. Responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of the store in the absence of the Store Manager. Aims to maximize store sales and profitability, minimize expenses, ensure optimal stocking and merchandising, and contribute to the growth and development of the management team and store associates. Responsibilities

SALES AND OPERATIONS: Hire, train and develop store staff with goals for growth and success in their positions; provide ongoing performance feedback; recognize accomplishments. Review store evaluations with management and staff to identify opportunities and correct issues with a sense of urgency. Coordinate supervision of staff to ensure sales goals are met and company procedures are followed. Delegate workload among associates to meet merchandising and visual presentation standards. Participate in associate evaluations to provide feedback, praise, and growth opportunities. Complete merchandising updates according to company standards. Work with vendors to develop merchandising strategies and assist with plan-o-grams and updates. Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create work schedules. Monitor payroll to ensure compliance with budgets and take corrective measures as necessary. Review staffing needs with Store Manager and HR/Ops Directors prior to additions, promotions or terminations. Develop and implement an in-store marketing strategy including promotions, events, and seasonal merchandising. Other assigned tasks as directed by supervision. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Promote customer service as the #1 priority; coach and monitor associates to ensure high service levels. Promote and model "Amaze Every Customer Every Time" and lead by example. Use huddles, communication boards, and store meetings to communicate performance and motivate the team. Drive customer satisfaction by acknowledging customers, meeting needs, and resolving concerns quickly. Review customer service measurement reports and work with the team to improve service levels. Document observations and provide coaching to ensure consistency of service. INVENTORY: Maintain accurate inventory through on-hand integrity, receiving, transfers, and adherence to best practices and deadlines. Utilize inventory reports to reduce shrinkage, maintain stock levels, and maximize accuracy. COACHING AND TRAINING: Pursue leadership development through available training opportunities; identify and oversee training requirements for all associates (new-hire orientation, on-the-job training, vendor training, etc.). SAFETY, COMPLIANCE AND STORE ENVIRONMENT: Enforce safety policies and store appearance procedures; conduct preventative safety and fire inspections and take corrective actions as needed. Position Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a retail or customer service setting. Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to motivate and lead associates storewide in a fair and impartial manner. Strong analytical skills with the ability to delegate and be self-directed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills. Technically skilled in basic retail computer systems and related software. Develop and maintain client relationships and strategic partnerships. Dress according to company policy. Possess a valid in-state driver license with acceptable driving record per company standards. Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements include: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, reach, and bend to perform duties. Move and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds and fixtures; perform lifting as required. Job responsibilities may change based on business needs. Work Environment
