We’re also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.

This is a full-time salaried night shift position located in La Jolla. Eligible to participate in the Supervisor Incentive Plan.

Responsibilities

As Supervisor, Patient Care RN, Neuro/Ortho/Spine at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and a culture that promotes patient safety.

Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, share leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans.

Ensure the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care, including active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to the next appropriate level of care.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills

Two years of applicable clinical experience, one of which in a leadership role.

Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.

Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and the complexity of patient care.

Graduate of an accredited program.

Required Certification/Registration

Maintains current California RN license.

Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider and all competencies/certifications required of the charge RN on the unit.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification

BSN and/or MSN and certification in area of specialty if applicable.

Certification in area of specialty (Med Surg or similar, Ortho, Neuro, or Leadership).

Position Pay Range: $63.50-$91.97/hour
