Overview
The Field Project Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish for our Architectural Walls Division. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards while managing subcontractors, field staff, and site operations.
The Field Project Management Candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience and a Construction Management or Engineering degree. Estimating skills, understanding of all building trades materials and methods with a special emphasis in Framing, Drywall and Glazing along with strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Responsibilities Pre-construction
Attend and coordinate project job walks
Review architectural drawing packages
Develop and maintain project schedules and work plans
Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders
Review plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance
Field Management
Attend kick-off meetings on site with other trades
Perform all site surveys
Oversee daily field operations, including installation subcontractor performance and workforce allocation
Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines
Resolve issues, delays, or conflicts that arise in the field
Safety
Conduct project walks with Superintendent
Work with Superintendent to establish Site Specific Safety Plans
Coordinate and review Job Hazard Analysis and High Risk activities with Superintendent and entire construction team
Complies, understands, and supports corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
Team & Client Relations
Serve as the primary point of site contact for general contractor and labor subcontractors
Lead project meetings, provide progress updates, and manage expectations
Foster a collaborative work environment focused on quality and efficiency
Cost Control
Identify, track and manage scope and change orders for Manufacturer, Owner/Client and Subcontractor
Meetings
Attend weekly Subcontractor Meeting with Project Superintendent
Attend and contribute in weekly Owner, Architect and Contractor meetings
Present RFI, Submittal and Change Order Logs
Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and project documents to extended team
Technical Ability
Ability to measure both horizontally and vertically to the closest 1/8”
Working knowledge of commercial construction including framing, electrical drywall and flooring
Conduct coordination meetings with general contractor multiple subcontractor trades
Interface with Architect and Engineers to efficiently resolve technical issues and convey information to field and entire team
Working knowledge of best industry practice for design and construction is beneficial
Ensures accurate construction reports from the jobsite to allow for continuous improvement in performance
Manages flow of critical information to all team members in a timely manner
Develops strategies, supervises and problem solves with project team to deliver projects on time and within budget
Provides guidance for effective planning, design, contract and resource development
Advises on Value Engineering opportunities for potential cost savings
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in construction project management, with field supervision responsibilities
Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, scheduling, and budgeting
Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.)
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
